Hello and Welcome to my Studio
My name is Kasia Cymerman. I was born in Poland and moved to the US as a teen. Over the years I became quite aware of how the two cultures shaped who I am, a multitude of threads weaving through my life creating a unique tapestry. I am a wife, mother, clinical psychologist, and a self-taught weaver and textile artist.
I discovered weaving three years ago. Always an artist at heart, it quickly became my passion. The more I played with yarn, the more connected to it I felt on a deeply personal level.
In my career, I am grateful to my clients for choosing to share their life stories with me. The process of psychotherapy is collaborative, complex, and often tangled and messy. Not unlike weaving.
I am aware of how different aspects of our past cross and repeat throughout our lives. They flow; at times becoming knotted, tight, and twisted. They are all connected, and just like weaving, require deep attunement, intimacy, patience, and dedication.
My stories and emotions weave through my pieces. I work intuitively and get inspiration from nature, life, and travels. I love working with texture and natural fibers. The materials I use are ethically sourced and include merino wool, roving, corespun alpaca, cotton, jute, hemp, and many others.
Custom Work
I aspire to create large-scale custom art for private collectors and commercial/hospitality spaces. Over the past year, I worked with interior designers, art consultants, and individual clients. I love collaborating with my clients during the commission process. Together, we can create something beautiful and unique for your space.
